Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water systems, per reports from local authorities.
Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.
Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.
"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," he wrote in a social media post.
Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.
Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.
A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.
Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.
Area administrators said the city endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.
The attacks follow evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.
All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.
Government officials told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.
Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were bracing for more assaults.
